I know how hard it can be to stick to a healthy nutrition routine. You start off on the right track, but then you fall off. Why?
Some may say it's because you don't have the willpower or motivation but I say it’s because it’s not realistic or maintainable.
Even the top bodybuilding competitors in the world aren’t on a strict diet for a whole year. Sure, their diet might be more strict than yours, but they also have an on and off season.
Life is all about balance. I can’t emphasize that word enough. Having said that, it’s better to find a way that works for you. I believe in the 80/20 rule.
If I can eat healthy 80% of the week, I’m doing just fine. If I go over, then I get back on track the next day. As long as you don’t let it get to you and start falling off every week.
I’m all about trying new things to incorporate into my nutrition so I thought I would try Hello Fresh. It’s a meal delivery service that lets you pick which meals you want for the week. They send you the recipe and ingredients needed to cook that meal.
Just keep in mind that you may have to substitute certain ingredients (like I do) if you have food allergies or sensitivities. For example, I’ll usually substitute the milk for almond milk or will try to stay away from cheese or gluten.
Also, if you’re on a more of a strict diet, I would check the nutrition facts on the recipes before ordering. Some of them can get pretty high in carbs or fats. Just be mindful.
Overall, Hello Fresh has been one of my favorites. The proportions are just right (I order the two person plan) for my boyfriend and me.
This is our 5th week using Hello Fresh and he even likes to cook the meals because they give you easy step by step directions!
I’ve tried other companies that just didn’t come with enough food for two people. Plus, the food tastes great and they give you lots of options to choose from week to week.
I’ve done other meal prep companies where the meals are already done for you and have found this to be a great alternative for those who don’t like to cook. Especially when you're on the go and don't have time to cook.
